City of North Port
NPFR & Florida Fire Services have been on scene of a brush fire in the area of mile marker 176 (between Kings Highway and Toledo Blade), just north of the interstate. The fire has been burning since about 5:30 p.m. last night. There is a lot of smoke along the interstate. The fire is in a difficult spot to access. FFS tractors and NPFR brush trucks are working to contain the fire and extinguish any hot spots. There is a lot of smoke, which greatly decreases visibility. Please use caution and sloooow down if you’re planning to be traveling in that area.
