City to host Veterans Day parade Monday, Nov. 11 | City of Sarasota

City of Sarasota, FL; The City of Sarasota, in conjunction with the Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee, will host the annual Veterans Day parade at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in downtown Sarasota.

The parade will start at Main Street and Osprey Avenue and conclude at Chaplain J.D. Hamel Park, located at Main Street and Gulfstream Avenue, where a ceremony will be held at approximately 11 a.m. honoring all military veterans who have served this nation. The public is invited to attend.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Lt. Col. Erica Stone Gregory. Lt. Col. Gregory is an Air Force Academy graduate with over 30 years of experience in military, private sector, and non-profit leadership. Throughout her extensive military career, Lt. Col. Gregory received a Bronze Star Medal among numerous other awards and commendations for her service.

The parade will include band performances from Sarasota Military Academy, Sarasota High School, Riverview High School, and Booker High School. Local law enforcement agencies, first responders, color guards, veterans’ groups, community organizations and local dignitaries will also participate in the parade.

Commercial vehicles will not be allowed to participate in the parade.
