City of Sarasota, FL: Kyle Battie and Sequoia Felton have advanced to the general election for the District 1 City Commission seat, based on unofficial results from Tuesday’s first election.
Battie and Felton were the top two vote-getters and will be on the ballot in the Nov. 5 general election.
Unofficial results, as reported on the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections website, www.SarasotaVotes.com, are as follows:
CANDIDATE | VOTES | PERCENTAGE |
Kyle Scott Battie | 813 | 42.72 % |
Sequoia Felton | 724 | 38.05 % |
Melissa Furman | 366 | 19.23 % |
With just two candidates in each race for the District 2 and District 3 City Commission seats, those candidates automatically advanced to the general election without a primary.
The candidates in each of the three districts receiving a majority of votes in the general election will be sworn into office Friday, Nov. 8 to serve four-year terms.
Election results are expected to become official Thursday following a final canvassing of vote-by-mail and provisional ballots by the Supervisor of Elections. For more information about voting, call 941-861-8600 or visit www.SarasotaVotes.com.
