Charlotte County Major Crimes Unit investigating a shooting in Punta Gorda

Charlotte County detectives are investigating an isolated incident in the Deep Creek area of Punta Gorda in which one person suffered a gunshot wound.
Just after midnight this morning, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 200 block of Seasons Drive in Punta Gorda (Deep Creek) in reference to reports of an individual who suffered a gunshot wound. All parties were accounted for, and the injured individual was transported to an area hospital for medical attention.
The investigation is still ongoing; however, the incident is confirmed to be isolated to the residence. There is no threat to the public.
