North Port Police make an arrest in a “intersection Takeover” event

FLY around and find out. Early Saturday morning a number of individuals from outside our area visited North Port to conduct an organized “Intersection Takeover”. The incident involves closing down an intersection and speeding around in circles for some reason as onlookers film and get dangerously close to the vehicles involved.
The incident caused traffic to stop and put lives and property at risk.
As a result, multiple NPPD units responded and multiple vehicles were stopped, cited, and one individual was arrested.
While these types of illegal incidents have become more frequent outside our area, the North Port Police Department has no tolerance for them in our community. We will work to hold those involved accountable. Including this case. This case is ongoing. More charges are pending.
