North Port man gets 40 years for sexual battery on a 12-year-old child

Back in 2021, NPPD charged Derrick Pierce (31) with sexual battery on a child under 12-years-old. Pierce will now serve 40 years in state prison and be a registered sex offender with predator status for the rest of his life.
 
“If you harm children in North Port, you can guarantee that our dedicated detectives will work to make sure you are held accountable,” Chief Todd Garrison said.
 
We thank those with the State Attorney’s Office 12th Judicial Circuit for making sure some justice for our victim was served.
