Venice City Hall and other City facilities will be closed Friday, July 4, for the observance of the Independence Day holiday. Garbage, yard waste and recyclables will NOT be collected on July 4. City residents whose normal collection day is Friday will have their items picked up on their next regular collection day of Tuesday, July 8 (NOT the next day). Residents are reminded to have all materials to the curb by 7 a.m.
In the event of Utilities service emergencies like a water line break, residents can call 941-486-2770. This line is designated for emergencies only.
City Hall will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. Monday, July 7.
A reminder that the City’s annual Independence Day Fireworks Display will light up the Gulf skies on Friday, July 4, at approximately 9:15 p.m. This year the show will launch north of the Venice Fishing Pier, due to hurricane damage at the South Jetty. The display will be visible at locations from Venice Beach to Caspersen. Please arrive early to secure your spot.
