Recently, James M. Holland of North Port pled guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by 10 years of sex offender probation, after being charged with 40 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

North Port Police Detectives uncovered that Holland was engaging in online chats with individuals he believed were minors, sending them obscene material.

This outcome is the result of a dedicated investigation by our team, focused on protecting the most vulnerable in our community.

“We will do whatever it takes to protect our children. If you exploit or prey on them, we will find you, and we will hold you accountable,” says Chief Todd Garrison.
The safety of our youth is and will always be our top priority.

Special thanks to the State Attorney’s Office 12th Judicial Circuit for helping to hold Holland accountable.
