PGPD: On April 29, 2025, detectives from the Punta Gorda Police Department arrested a Punta Gorda Middle School teacher after a Charlotte County Public School District high school student and their parent came forward and reported inappropriate sexual behavior. After investigation, a warrant was obtained for the arrest of Dagoberto Miquel Pena (36) on charges of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors and Lewd or Lascivious Battery. This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no further information can be released at this time.
