Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested
On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:47 PM, an armed robbery occurred at Walgreens1225 S. Tamiami Trail. The suspect, identified as James Cook (W/M, DOB: 07/10/84), entered the business armed with a handgun, demanding money. Cook held employees and a customer at gunpoint before stealing cash and prescription pills from the pharmacy.
Thanks to the relentless efforts of detectives and multiple partner agencies—including North Port PD, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Homeless Outreach Team, Real-Time Operations Center, and the Community Action Team—Cook was located and arrested without incident at approximately 1:00 PM on March 7, 2025.
This swift arrest was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of all involved. James Cook has been taken into custody and will be held accountable for his actions.
