Man impersonating a contractor in Charlotte County is charged with fraud

Francesco Abbruzzino, The Uncensored Report, LLC

Steven Saunders who resides in Ft. Myeres was arrested in Charlotte County for impersonating a contractor and grand theft over 20k.

Steven was hired to build a sunroom.  He quoted the homeowner that the sunroom would cost $85,389 to build.  Wow, that must have been one hell of a sunroom…………  Unfortunately, the home owner did give Steven a deposit of just over $39k.

Apparently the home owner did not check to see if Steven had a license, prior to giving him the deposit.  She found out afterwards and demanded the return of her deposit.  He claimed that product was already bought and he could not return the homeowners deposit.

The police got involved and found that not only did Steven never buy the product, he did not pull any permits…………

Moral of this story, always go to the Florida DBPR at https://www.myfloridalicense.com/wl11.asp?mode=0&SID and search to ensure that the contractor is licensed.
