When your GPS reroutes you straight to jail. 🚔

Yesterday, our TAC Unit pulled over a known narcotics dealer, Elvis C. Shine, during a traffic stop. They found cocaine and MDMA in his car. Oh, and he wasn’t supposed to be driving.

Let’s take a look at Shine’s charges:
• One count of Possession of Cocaine with Intent
• One count of Possession of MDMA with Intent
• Driving with License Suspended

Our Special Investigations Section (SIS) was able to obtain a warrant authorizing the search of Shine’s home in Nokomis.

SWAT, with the assistance of the agency’s Special Investigations Section and our tactical patrols executed the search warrant where detectives found 52.6 grams of powder Cocaine and a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun. When you do the math – that’s an additional 2 charges for Shine!

1. One count of Trafficking in Cocaine (Over 28g)
2. Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Yet another example of outstanding teamwork between the sheriff’s office’s TAC, SIS, and SWAT Team! Shine’s home has been the subject of multiple citizen complaints over the last few months, so we’re happy to bring a resolution to this ongoing issue!
