SCSO is investigating a school bus crash in Sarasota

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is investigating a school bus crash that occurred this morning at 7:01 a.m. at the intersection of Beneva Road and Sarasota Square Boulevard.
 
Two of the drivers involved suffered minor injuries, but none of the 15 students on board the bus were injured. Three vehicles were involved in the crash – a school bus, a Honda Civic, and a Ford Escape. The Ford Escape and the Honda Civic collided causing the Civic to slide into the side of the school bus which was stopped at the intersection.
 
The SCSO Traffic Unit is investigating the crash. Portions of the roadway were closed during the investigation. The intersection has now been reopened.
