Sarasota Police responded to a fire at the Baymont by Wyndham Sarasota

Sarasota Police responded to a fire at the Baymont by Wyndham Sarasota, located in the 1400 block of South Tamiami Trail, shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Upon arrival, Sarasota Police officers and Sarasota County Emergency Services found an adult male victim in a hotel room with injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is now leading the investigation. All further inquiries should be directed to their office.
