Police make an arrest after a victim was shot near Toledo Blade Blvd this morning

Around 5:20am this morning, 911 was contacted that someone had been shot near Toledo Blade Blvd. and El Jobean Rd. Deputies arrived to secure the area, and the investigation revealed the victim had been shot with a flare gun. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After further investigation it was determined Nicholas Sperduti (12/19/1992) was the suspect and he was apprehended near the 7-11 at Tamiami Tr. and Toledo Blade Blvd. a short time later. Nicholas has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and will spend his holidays at the Charlotte County Jail.
