On Nov. 17, at around 6 p.m., the Venice Police Marine Unit and the Venice FL Fire Rescue Rescue Boat responded to a vessel in distress reported approximately two miles off Nokomis Beach.

The 19-foot dual console single-engine vessel was located seven miles offshore near Osprey. During its escort back to shore, the vessel experienced engine failure and began to take on water, ultimately capsizing approximately five miles offshore. 🛥

The single occupant was taken ashore without injuries, and the vessel was towed by TowBoat US for salvage.
