Sarasota County

Homeowners in unincorporated Sarasota County started receiving postcards this week as the county begins to transition from a manual garbage collection system to an automated, cart-based system in March 2025.  A sample example of a postcard is attached.

The verification code on each postcard is unique to the address it was mailed to.  Residents should use their individual verification code found on the postcard and enter it at scgov.net/selectyoursize to choose their cart.

If residents have not received their postcard yet, please be patient. They were mailed this week and should be arriving in all mailboxes soon.

Sarasota County will provide one garbage cart per residence.  Residents can select one garbage cart from a 95-gallon (recommended), 65-gallon or 35-gallon cart. Residents may request additional carts by contacting their service provider on or after March 31, 2025.
