Please join us in wishing #K9 Blue a happy retirement! K9 Blue, a narcotics detection canine, joined the Bradenton Police Department in January 2019. In the last two years of her career, K9 Blue helped BPD locate and seize approximately 60 kg of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, and marijuana. Blue, a valued member of our narcotics unit, also contributed to investigations conducted by the Central Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Gulf Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). BPD’s K9s live with their handlers and become beloved family members. So, while she might not be a working dog anymore, she’ll still be a part of the BPD family! 🐾
