SCHOOL THREAT ARREST: Deputies have arrested a Dr. Mona Jain Middle School student for making written threats to kill.

13-year-old Parker Reno was arrested last night (10/17) after law enforcement was made aware through multiple FortifyFL tips of a threat posted yesterday on an instant messaging app. Through their investigation, detectives identified Reno as the suspect and he later confessed to making the threat because he was tired of being bullied.

Deputies searched his residence and no firearms were found. Reno was charged with written/electronic threats to kill, a second-degree felony, and transported to the Juvenile Booking Facility.

Sheriff Ricks Wells stresses the importance of speaking to your children about the seriousness and life-altering consequences of making school threats.

Deputies will continue to provide additional security at all schools when they receive information about threats.
