Sarasota County sandbag stations are open today from 9-7

Due to the US National Weather Service Tampa Bay Florida forecast for multiple inches of rain later this weekend, self-service sandbags will be offered to Sarasota County residents today, Oct. 4, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at the following locations:

 

Ed Smith Stadium, 2700 12th St.
Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota
South County Fleet Services, 4571 SR 776/Englewood Road, Venice

 

Residents are limited to 10 bags per vehicle.

 

Prior to Hurricane Helene, more than 60,000 sandbags were distributed. Those that still have sandbags from the previous storm may choose to reuse them. #HurricaneHelene

 

LOCATIONS FOR OUR MUNICIPAL PARTNERS

 

The Town has a self-serving sand bag station open at the Broadway Beach Access. If you need additional bags, please visit The Town of Longboat Ket Public Works Department at 600 General Harris Street.

 

A self-serve sandbag station is available at the Larry Thoennissen Athletic Fields behind the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way. Bags and sand will be available while supplies last, with a limit of 10 bags per vehicle. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels.
