Appreciating the challenges residents are experiencing to repair damage to their property caused by two devastating hurricanes, Helene and Milton, effective this date and retroactive to Sept. 27, 2024, the City of Venice Building Department will waive the application fee for certain permits issued for storm-related damage, including roof repairs, reroofing, electrical repairs, single door and single window replacement, and other minor work permits. In addition, inspection fees for permits described herein will also be waived. The waiver is intended to facilitate repair and reconstruction of hurricane-damaged structures and will be in effect for applications filed through Jan. 31, 2025.
Please see attached executive order signed by Venice City Manager Ed Lavallee today granting this temporary waiver. It should be noted this executive order does not modify the process to acquire a permit for storm-related damage by clicking –>> here
