City of North Port to Host Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

NORTH PORT, FL – The City of North Port is hosting its annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at the Public Works facility located at 1850 W. Price Blvd.
This free service allows North Port residents to safely dispose of potentially harmful household products that should not be placed in regular trash. Accepted items include:
- Pool chemicals
- Automotive products
- Pesticides
- Fluorescent bulbs
- Batteries
- Paint
- Paint solvents
- Cleaners
- Adhesives & glues
- Fertilizers
- Household fire extinguishers
- Propane cylinders (BBQ size)
- Tires
Please note that bulk items, appliances/large electronics and regular garbage will not be accepted at this event.
“Proper disposal of household hazardous waste is crucial for protecting our environment and public health,” Solid Waste Manager Frank Lama said. “We encourage all residents to take advantage of this free opportunity to responsibly dispose of these materials.”
