Suncoast: School bus driver strikes a pedestrian

BPD: Bradenton Police Department traffic unit officers are investigating a pedestrian-involved crash involving a charter school bus reported at approximately 6:35 a.m. A 59-year-old man, who was not in a crosswalk, was hit by the bus, which was traveling westbound on Manatee Avenue near 26th St. E. EMS transported the pedestrian to a hospital. At this time, additional information on his condition isn’t available. Students on the bus were not injured. Westbound Manatee Ave. was closed from approximately 6:45 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
