NPPD needs help finding this individual for battery on a LEO

The North Port Police Department is currently searching for 23-year-old Debahj Grant for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, among other charges. During a traffic stop this evening on Price Blvd. near Purdue St. Grant struck one of our officers while putting his vehicle in reverse, pinning the officer between the door jam, then fleeing. The empty vehicle was discovered a short time later. Thankfully, the officer is okay.

K-9 Units and the Drone Team have been deployed with a heavy police presence in the Napoleon Rd. and Amnesty Dr. area. Grant is described as Black male 6’0, 155lbs, brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing glasses at the time of the incident. More details to come.
