The City of Venice is experiencing coastal storm surge due to Hurricane Helene. Fast-moving water has flooded many roadways along the coast. Avoid these areas and shelter in place until conditions improve. This is not the time to be on the road if you don’t need to be. Never attempt to drive through floodwaters. Turn around, don’t drown. If you need emergency assistance, call 911.

SOLID WASTE
Collection of trash, recyclables and properly prepared yard waste will resume for City of Venice residential customers on Friday, Sept. 27, starting at 9 a.m. Do not place your trash and recycling carts or other materials at the curb overnight or in flooded areas. Please wait until high winds have subsided before placing materials curbside to help eliminate potential airborne hazards. Commercial routes will continue as regularly scheduled.

FACILITY & PARK UPDATES
City Hall and other City facilities will be open Friday. Be aware staff will be focused on storm recovery. No building inspections will be scheduled for Friday.
Humphris Park at the South Jetty and the Venice Fishing Pier are closed. Do not attempt to visit these locations. Conditions are dangerous and will continue to worsen as storm surge increases overnight following high tide.
