Storm debris pickup is underway in the Sarasota city limits!
Just 3 days after the City resumed regular operations following Hurricane Debby, our Public Works crews started storm debris collection this morning.
What City residents need to know about storm debris pickup:
π¦π§π₯π¨ππ§π¨π₯π πππ’π’πππ Storm Debris: This includes flood-impacted furniture, dry wall and other flood-impacted construction materials, white goods (appliances including refrigerators, ranges, washing machines, dryers, air conditioning units and water heaters).
White goods must be separated from other storm debris for curbside collection.
For structure flooded storm debris pickup, please call the Solid Waste Division: 941-263-6170.
Please place all materials at least 6-feet away from mailboxes, utility poles, fire hydrants etc., to allow collection equipment to pick up the materials.
π©ππππ§ππ§ππ©π Debris: Prepare according to the regular yard waste pickup requirements:
Place in paper bags, reusable containers or tied bundles or stacks placed curbside
Paper bags, reusable containers should weigh 50 pounds or less when filled
Bundles should be 48-inches or less in length, tied with compostable twine and weigh 50 pounds or less
