Sarasota County reviewing sewage pipes, to find the root cause of flooding during Debby

SRQ Cty: Sarasota County Public Works crews are in area of Lorraine Road and Palmer Blvd this morning, Monday, Aug. 19. Staff is building a berm to drain water that will allow team members to inspect the pipes accurately with a camera. Once this is completed, crews will be using a hydraulic cleaning machine to clean the pipe if necessary. This evaluation will be looking for any factors that could contribute to flooding in the area, in addition to the historic rainfall during the storm.
