CITY OF NORTH PORT, FL — Mark your calendars! The North Port Parks & Recreation Department is pulling out the holiday decorations and starting preparations for the 2024 Poinsettia Parade & Festival. This year’s event will be held on Dec. 7, kicking off with the Festival, starting at a new time, from 3-7 p.m. at City Center Front Green (4970 City Hall Blvd.). The traditional North Port Parade, sponsored by Quality TV, will commence at 5 p.m., with a theme of “Poinsettias in Paradise.” As always, spectator admission and parking are both free.

The Poinsettia Parade will travel south down Sumter Blvd., ending at the City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd., where the Poinsettia Festival will be held before and after the parade. In the past, the parade has featured more than 50 units, including local businesses and organizations. The fee for parade participants is $30. There is no charge for governmental entities, active U.S. military and qualifying nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status. Those interested in participating are encouraged to sign up early using the online parade unit application, allowing time to come up with unique and creative ideas for floats that incorporate this year’s theme.

Although we are starting early, at 3 p.m., the Poinsettia Festival will continue to feature the annual tree lighting ceremony, mobile food vendors, entertainment, attractions, merchandise vendors, and much more. Businesses or organizations interested in participating will be invited to apply in early September.

It’s never too early to think about your fall marketing plan! For businesses looking to engage with families and connect with the local community, a sponsorship opportunity might be the gift that keeps on giving. Tiered sponsorships put your message in front of 10,000 attendees and offer positive brand association while building goodwill in a festive atmosphere. To learn how to become a sponsor, contact Kimberly Lencki, Community Partnership & Engagement Manager, at 941-429-7143 or [email protected].
