This week the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) placed 400 tons of granite rock along both sides of the South Jetty walkway providing temporary repairs to the damage caused by Hurricane Idalia.

The South Jetty walkway is closed through the weekend and will remain closed until Public Works crews can resurface it. Resurfacing is weather-dependent and is expected to take several weeks to complete. Trespassing in the closed areas will garner you a $75 fine.

Stay tuned for more updates next week as we get closer to reopening our beloved South Jetty!

Thank you for your patience.
