Most Sarasota County Government offices closed May 27 in observance of Memorial Day

SARASOTA COUNTY – Most Sarasota County Government offices will be closed Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

Closed on Monday, May 27:

  • All Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources offices and facilities.
  • The Florida Department of Health – Sarasota County.
  • Sarasota County University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences Extension and Sustainability offices (UF/IFAS).
  • Sarasota County Breeze Transit administrative offices and ticket outlets.
  • Breeze regular bus and Plus services.
  • Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources recreation facilities and the Knight Trail Park pistol and rifle range.
  • The Bee Ridge Chemical Collection Center, administrative office and the Re-Uz-It Shop at 8750 Bee Ridge Road.
  • The Central County Landfill administrative office at 4000 Knights Trail Road and the Jackson Road Chemical Collection Center at 250 S. Jackson Road.
  • Sarasota County Tax Collector.
  • Sarasota County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller.
  • Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections.

Operating normal hours on Monday, May 27:

  • Curbside collection services for trash, recycling and yard waste for residents in unincorporated Sarasota County will not be affected by the holiday and remain on the regular pickup schedule. Because collection times vary, residents should place materials at the curb by 6 a.m. the day of pickup.
  • Disposal operations at the Central County Landfill at 4000 Knights Trail Road and the Citizens’ Convenience Center at 4010 Knights Trail Road, Nokomis, are open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. All customers unloading by hand should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing.
  • The Breeze 77 Siesta Islander, Breeze 76 Flyer and OnDemand services will operate under normal hours.
