On May 22, Bradenton City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed use of speed cameras in school zones. If approved, the program will be implemented at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. The cameras record license plate information of vehicles traveling more than 10 mph over the posted speed limit during specified times of the day, and the car’s registered owner is fined $100.
