City of Sarasota

Commissioners will consider an initiative presented by City Manager Marlon Brown to purchase two properties in downtown and construct two 12-story apartment buildings with nearly 200 workforce attainable housing rental units for 400 individuals. The housing would be for middle income individuals who have priced out of living in Sarasota where they work, including teachers, paramedics, electricians, hospitality employees and more.

The Commission meeting starts at 9 a.m. tomorrow and will be livestreamed here on Facebook and the City of Sarasota website: https://www.sarasotafl.gov/services/meetings-agendas-videos
