We responded to a fire at Five Oaks Mini Storage at 10:30 a.m. on April 28. The first arriving units reported black smoke showing from all four sides of the units. Responding units included C-shift crews from Engines 1, 6, 7, 11, Rescue 32, Support 1, Truck 12, Battalion Chiefs 1 and 2, and mutual aid from PGFD Truck 1 and Battalion. They quickly located the fire and extinguished the flames, saving the property in many units.

While fighting the fire, the crew had to open the surrounding units to ensure the flames had not spread to other units. Our fire marshall responded, investigated, and ruled the fire accidental.

Olympia Ave. was temporarily closed to traffic during the fire because we had to run hoses across the street.
