A man was arrested for exposing himself in two separate Port Charlotte businesses within one week – after a similar arrest earlier this month.

On April 19, 2024, deputies met with a woman who claimed that a man had been staring at her and masturbating inside of the Neighborhood Walmart in Port Charlotte the day before. She described the male as black with short hair and splotchy facial hair.

Deputies reviewed security footage from the business and were able to identify the subject as Xavier “Pee Wee” Hearns (9/1/1988). Hearns had also been arrested on April 2, 2024 for an incident that occurred in March for exposing himself inside of the Target store in Port Charlotte.

Less than a week after the Neighborhood Walmart incident, at approximately 12:30pm on Thursday, April 25, Charlotte County deputies responded to the Burlington store in Port Charlotte in reference to a man who had been exposing himself inside. A female shopper advised that the male was acting suspicious and making her uncomfortable as he continuously made eye contact with her. The woman attempted to ignore the man, but eventually noticed that he had his penis exposed through the zipper hole of his shorts. She moved to a different area, but the man continued to expose himself in plain sight.

Based on the description provided and store surveillance, deputies again identified the subject as Xavier Hearns. They provided a photo lineup to the woman, who positively selected Hearns as the man she saw.

“I want to commend my deputies for being able to quickly identify and take this individual into custody. Due to his prior history, I can only hope that this time he stays behind bars and away from the public.”

– SHERIFF BILL PRUMMELL

Hearns was located and arrested on April 26 on charges of Exposure of Sexual Organs. He is being held at the Charlotte County Jail without bond.

* If you or someone you know were exposed to Hearns’ actions, please call the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number to make a report (941) 639-2101. *
