Earth Day Celebration at West Blalock Park in Venice 4/20

On Saturday, April 20, Venice will hold an Earth Day Celebration at West Blalock Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with walking tours of the Monty Andrews Arboretum; a tree and plant giveaway; butterfly garden, composting, rain barrel and orchid demonstrations; and a Q&A with the City Arborist. Children’s activities include Treasure Quest, a program developed by UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County; and sidewalk chalk drawing.
There is no charge; all are welcome.
West Blalock Park is located at 401 Pensacola Rd. at Nassau St., across from the Venice Museum.
A note that the City’s Fire and Police Public Safety Day event will be going on the same day, April 20, across the street at the Venice Community Center, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Venice Museum will also be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come on out and enjoy all the events!
