Two arrested by Sarasota Police during narcotics search warrant operation

Sarasota Police executed a narcotics search warrant at 2748 Gillespie Avenue, Sarasota, on January 11, 2024.
Detectives from the Sarasota Police Department’s Strategic Investigations Unit and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team members worked together to arrest Johnnie Jenkins, 70, Sarasota, and Leslie Harper, 44, Sarasota.
Detectives recovered narcotics (rock cocaine), marijuana, and a firearm (.22 caliber revolver handgun) from the residence.
Jenkins was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, maintaining a place where substances are illegally kept, and Violation of Probation.
Harper was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, and Violation of Probation.
