Investigation underway after two found dead in Charlotte County shooting – NBC2

Two people are dead after an isolated shooting incident in the area of Trails End Dr. in Punta Gorda.
Just before 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 24, Charlotte County dispatchers received a call advising that two people had been shot and killed at a residence on Trails End Dr. in Punta Gorda. Deputies and detectives from the Major Case Unit immediately responded and secured the scene.
This is a very fluid and active investigation; however, it is determined to be an isolated incident and is specific to the residence. There is no danger to the public.
“I understand the community’s concern and the anxiousness for information. At this time, there is nothing more we can provide without jeopardizing the investigation, but we will provide an update when it is appropriate to do so. I want to thank the community for their understanding in this matter.”
