Woodland Middle School student caught with a gun on campus today

I received a text a few minutes ago, asking me about an issue at Woodland Middle School in North Port. The parents were coming and grabbing their kids from the school. According to a contact within the school system, a student was found with a gun at the school. The student was confronted by staff at school and taken into custody. Sarasota County School Police are heading up the investigation. Unconfirmed scoop from an insider, is that it was a girl and she planned on shooting her math teacher during the phone alarm test today. I guess kids knew about it, but only one spoke up and said something to a teacher, about the child possessing a gun. As more information becomes available, I will update this posting.
