City of Venice election deadline is tomorrow.  Here are the four candidates that are running for seat 1 and seat 2

The City of Venice put out an information email regarding the elections, which has a deadline of tomorrow.  The information is below.  I was asked to run against Mitzie, but I declined.  I told the groups that were asking me, that the voters made it clear that there was no interest in having me represent them.  Repeatedly. 😊 Also, I told them that Pat Neal will spend $50k through third party PAC’s promoting my opponent, just like he has done in my last two races.  I am the last person Pat wants to see in office.  Especially against Mitzie, who has voted for just about every development that has come her way, including the Publix on wetlands, which Neal wanted pushed through.  – Frankie Abbruzzino

Here is the information, but it will be hard to set up a bank account in time to beat the deadline tomorrow.  Also, the candidates are below.

Candidates:

Seat 1

  • Mitzie Fiedler. PHD, but she insists on being called doctor during the meetings.  Personally, it is great that she has her doctorate, but they are all the same and should be called by the title we elected them under.  In her case, Councilmember.
  • Joan Ferrell. No information on Joan, but I know the groups and folks in N. Venice want Mitzie out, due to her pro-developer voting record.  So, I wonder if Joan is someone they encouraged to run.

Seat 2 – Dick Long is retiring the seat.

  • Dusty Dean Feller. Assuming he is an R, since his opponent is a D.  The race is suppose to be non-partisan, but it anything but that…………….. He appears to have the backing of developers.
  • Ron Smith. He had a ton of support in his last race and nearly won, even with Pat Neal spending $50k via PAC’s to defeat him.
