Armed Robbery Investigation in North Port

NORTH PORT, FL – The North Port Police Department was dispatched to 3085 W. Price Blvd. (Dollar General) in reference to an armed robbery shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
An unknown black male wearing a mask brandished a firearm at the clerk and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled on foot with an unknown amount of money, possibly northbound on Cranberry Boulevard. An extensive search for the suspect is underway. It is possible that the suspect is not from the North Port area
The suspect’s photo is attached. Described as:
- Black male
- Approximately 6-foot-2
- Black shirt, black Nike shorts, yellow jacket
- Orange slide shoes
