The City of Venice has named Brianne Lorenz as Special Events and Marketing Coordinator. She starts in her new role Tuesday, June 20.

Before joining the City, Brianne worked for Sarasota County Government’s Communications Department for six years. She holds a master’s degree in professional writing from New York University and earned a bachelor’s in business administration from Manhattan College. She has also taken the Advanced Public Information Officer Federal Emergency Management Agency course and completed several crisis communications, marketing and writing certification programs.

As a professional communicator, Brianne enjoys helping people share their stories and the projects or initiatives they are passionate about.

“I am thrilled to be joining the City of Venice and hope to bring creative energy to the post of Special Events and Marketing Coordinator,” she said. “I enjoy the beach and Venice’s vibrant downtown area, and I appreciate how engaged and passionate the community is.”

“The City of Venice is privileged to host a multitude of charming and engaging community events throughout the year,” said Assistant City Manager James Clinch. “We are looking forward to Brianne joining the City’s leadership team, to support the continued success of these important special events to the Venice community.”

Brianne and her husband Justin, a Venice Police Officer, married in February.

Brianne replaces former Special Events Coordinator Carly Roderick, who left the City in April.
