CITY OF NORTH PORT, FL – June 1 is the start of hurricane season, and the City of North Port is committed to working alongside our community to enhance our response and recovery efforts. Residents are invited to participate in an upcoming virtual Community Resilience Workshop that will help the City build a long-term recovery and resiliency plan following the impacts of Hurricane Ian.
The City is partnering with the Olson Group, Ltd., which specializes in aiding local governments with emergency preparedness and recovery. Experts from the Olson Group will facilitate the virtual workshop, scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. on June 12, 2023.
An in-person session was previously held on May 2, which yielded helpful feedback and created a jumping-off point to work on improvements.
This virtual work session will focus on how North Port can rebuild in a way that improves our ability to recover from future disasters. Input from the public and community stakeholders will be incorporated into a long-term resiliency plan for the City.
The session is hosted via Microsoft Teams, and registration is required for this free event. Register here.
The virtual session is planned to be recorded and shared later for those who cannot attend live.
