Sarasota, FL: The City of Sarasota administrative offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

There will be no residential garbage, recycling, or yard waste pickup on Tuesday. Tuesday pickups will be delayed until Wednesday. Service will not change on Thursday and Friday.

Hours of operation at recreation and cultural arts facilities for July 4 are as follows:

The City is co-sponsoring the 38th annual P1 Offshore Sarasota Grand Prix scheduled for July 1-2 along Lido Beach, as well as the Bayfront Fireworks Spectacular at Sarasota Bayfront Park from 9-10 p.m. Tuesday, July 4.

P1 Offshore Sarasota Grand Prix closures include:

  • Centennial Park and the 10th Street boat ramp will be closed 11:59 p.m. Thursday, June 29 to 10 p.m. Sunday, July 2.
  • Parking at the South Lido Beach parking lot will be limited. Carpooling or using the Bay Runner trolley is highly encouraged. In addition, the Bay Runner trolley will not serve Ted Sperling Park Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2.
  • The pass will be closed west of the New Pass bridge Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2 during the races. Boaters will still have access to the cove.

 

 Road Closures and Limited Parking for the Bayfront Fireworks Spectacular:

  • Bayfront Drive will be closed from Orange Avenue to Gulfstream Avenue 7-11:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 4.
  • The parking lot at Bayfront Park and Marina/Island Park will close once it reaches maximum capacity. No parking is permitted in the grassy area on the south end of Bayfront Park.
  • Parking is not permitted in the median on John Ringling Boulevard. Drivers should observe the no parking signs.
  • The Bay Runner trolley will have an adjusted route from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, July 4. During that time, the last downtown stop will be on South Pineapple Avenue, and continue over the Ringling Bridge until the next stop at Sarasota Harbour West.
