VPD assist in the removal of a houseboat that sank during Ian

On Thursday, our marine unit assisted Sea Tow with a houseboat that was sunk from Hurricane Ian. Due to the size and weight they had to get a crane to lift it out of the water. Once they removed it from the waters it was taken to the landfill for disposal. During this process a film crew from the TV reality show Deep Water Salvage on the Weather Channel was filming the removal of this vessel.

Over the next few weeks, you may see more activity around the boat ramps as we continue to remove vessels from the waters that were affected by Hurricane Ian
