Several fights break out during the quinceañera celebration at the Venice Community Center

The Venice Police Department has received inquiries about an incident last evening (Saturday, 5/13) at the Venice Community Center around 10 p.m.
A quinceañera celebration was taking place at the VCC with several hundred in attendance. Officers responded to a report of several fights as the party was ending. All parties promptly left the area as VPD arrived; however, officials were informed by witnesses that one party had fired a handgun in the air before departing. No injuries were reported.
