CITY OF NORTH PORT, FL – Hurricane season begins June 1, and the City of North Port wants to be sure residents are prepared for any storms that may come our way. The North Port Hurricane Expo is set for May 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.
As we continue to recover from Hurricane Ian, we’re taking what we’ve learned into the next season. Vendors like the U.S. Coast Guard, Red Cross, National Weather Service and WKDW Radio will be on hand to offer tips, services or giveaways to use when the next storm rolls in. Local and regional emergency management officials will be on hand for presentations as well.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive information on topics such as flood zones, evacuation routes, emergency kits, storm protection and more.
“It’s more important than ever to be prepared this hurricane season,” Emergency Manager Mike Ryan said. “The expo will make hurricane-related services and information available to ensure North Port residents are ready and equipped.”
This event is free and open to the public. Learn more about hurricane preparedness and storm readiness here.
