One dead and one left in critical condition after a three vehicle crash in Venice

Venice Police Department posted a transit alert for Venice.

We continue to investigate this crash scene. Unfortunately, a 54-year-old male has died and a 63-year-old female was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. There is no additional information we can release on the identify of the patients or other driver’s.

Venice Ave from US41 Bypass to Grove St will remain closed until further notice. Utilize Spur St to Warfield Ave as an alternative route.

We recommend using the north or south bridges if you’re trying to navigate on to the Island.
