CITY OF NORTH PORT, FL —The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department has been selected as an Outstanding Partner by the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN), an initiative of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Department has partnered with FYCCN for many projects over the past few years to develop programs and classes meant to inspire lifelong delight for the outdoors and a passion for conserving Florida’s natural resources.
FYCCN support has provided materials to make North Port Parks & Recreation classes possible, such as kayaks, binoculars for birding and archery supplies.
“We’re thrilled to be named an FYCCN Outstanding Partner for the second time,” said Sandy Pfundheller, Director of Parks & Recreation. “Their support has helped us provide memorable outdoor activities such as the ‘Learn to ‘yak at NPAC’ kayaking class, archery classes and summer camp activities. I’m proud of our team members for collaborating with FYCCN to expand our outdoor recreation offerings to further engage the community.”
