Venice: Update on the repairs to the washout of the Venetian Waterway Park

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) are making great progress on repairing the washout of the Venetian Waterway Park trail near Venice Airport that occurred during Hurricane Ian. The first photo is an aerial of the area shortly after the storm; the rest were taken today.
Soil is being pulled back out of the Intracoastal Waterway, mixed with fresh dry dirt, then compacted into place. Sod is scheduled to be delivered the beginning of December. A new sidewalk will eventually be poured and perimeter fence installed for the Airport.
