When you think you’re getting away with it, you’re not. Tuesday morning, the North Port Police Department executed a search warrant at the home of 24-year-old Vitaliy Demkovskiy. He is now charged with 40-felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Additional charges include Using a Computer to Seduce Solicit Lure a Child, Transmitting Information Harmful to Minors, and Directly Promoting Sexual Performance by a Child.

NPPD is an active member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Central Florida Taskforce which receives cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Services and programs that many use online are required to notify these groups about inappropriate material involving minors being shared on their networks. These organizations work collaboratively to share information about those committing crimes against children. That’s exactly what happened here. Using the tips, our Detectives then begin their investigation, building a case. Tuesday, was the result of our commitment to children not only in our City but everywhere.

“NPPD has a duty to hold anyone living in our City responsible for exploiting kids. We take it very seriously,” says Police Chief Todd Garrison. “If you’re committing these types of crimes, we’re coming for you and we’re going to use every resource at our disposal to make sure you’re held accountable. While it is nothing like what these children go through, we can assure you that you will not enjoy the experience.”
